The Best Bar None (BBN) Award is granted to British alcohol-vending organisations with long standing commitment to social responsibility and the safety of people using their premises.
It is awarded in Dundee by the BBNDundee. (now entering its fifth year) A partnership of Dundee City Council's 'Dundee Co-ordinated Anticrime Network' (DUNCAN) scheme and Tayside Police.
The award, which aims to cut down on alcohol related crime and irresponsible drinking, was initiated in Manchester in 2003. In 2006 Dundee became the second Scottish city to adopt the scheme, with Award winners announced in August 2006.
The programme is now working in over 60 areas of the UK, with 11 areas in Scotland alone: Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee, East & Mid-Lothian, Falkirk, Fife, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and West Lothian.
